Shorts: Is Reality Made up of Consciousness?

I watched the discussion Is Reality Made up of Consciousness? on YouTube today.

Watch the video on YouTube: Is Reality Made up of Consciousness?

Here are my thoughts on the topic:

I was surprised about the question that was asked about difference between idealism and PP. Philip has said that fruit on tree is conscious, electron spin is form of consciousness but fruit fallen from tree is not conscious. And I think what she is saying is that even a fruit on ground and a cup are ultimately consciousness. No? So why is that even a question.

Why does it feel like Sun is going around the Earth? Yet now we know why after changing our way of thinking about it. Same way we cannot only go by why it feels like subjective experience. we may have to think about it differently after neuroscience may explain it. Definitely disagree to predeclare that neuroscience will not ever be able to explain subjective experience. We are working on it.

Her description of peeling off still seem to be limited to human sensory perception abilities. Humans cannot directly experience x-rays, we cannot experience billion degree temperature. No one can, except for the interiors of Stars themself etc. So what about those. Why can't we just accept physicalist approach of mass, energy, space and time and possible physical interactions between them per laws of physics. Why they MUST be experienced by something to become real. Why can't they be just be. What was going on 1 second after big bang? What was experiencing the reality at that time?

Ok, there can be many different possible experiences of a cup but can those be something outside the possible physical interactions dictated by laws of physics. E.g. seeing a red object behind opaque wall. I don't think so. I think you will agree. Thus set of experiences that can be had is not infinite like Keith said. It is limited to what possible physical interactions that are allowed by laws of physics between the experienced and the experiencer.

With all due respect, looks like she needs to catch up on what physicalists or neuroscience says what color perception is. First experience of red is stored with label red, second time the experience of red is compared with stored pattern in brain, label is looked up and then noted internally as equal and the red label associated with that pattern is reported when asked to. An English speaking person will report word Red and Hindi speaking person will report Lal. Thus it is simply retrieval and comparison of previously stored pattern and reporting of stored label. With damage to eye the same person may no longer report seeing red even when a red object is shown. Why? Because the pattern does not match anymore. This is because the damaged eye no longer send same electrical signal when a light with red wavelength lands on the eye. Also think of how night goggles work. Infrared is covered to visible green range and then we see the images.
